December 2010 - 1st Anniversary Issue!
Dear Readers:
When I began "The Women of Salem County" a year ago, I never imagined that it would grow as quickly as it has - and I certainly never thought that it would put me in a position to be able to leverage it in order to have it make such a positive impact on the community. In the past year, I held my first ever fundraising event and it has given me enough influence and a large enough network to market and promote both it and another event. I was lucky to have an experienced fundraiser and great friend, Debbie Pettit, by my side to help guide my way, as well as a terrific group of friends that took their "marching orders" in stride and pulled everything together perfectly as planned.
I am very excited by what I believe has been a tremendously successful first year. The Women of Salem County is growing very fast. We currently have over 1,100 Facebook fans, we have had close to 18,000 visits this year and 74,000 page views, we have featured 14 wonderful women and 3 terrific men, we have published 137 articles (wow!!!) and all in total, over $10,000.00 has been raised and donated in our name due to the efforts of Salem County's women in just under one year!
The success of this magazine and of these fundraising events could not have been possible by one person alone or even a small group of people. This has most certainly been a community effort. And most importantly, none of this would be possible without our loyal fans and readers, THE women of Salem County, and without whom there would be no magazine at all.
Sincerely, Christine DeGraff
