August 2010 - Spotlight on our Sponsors

This month, we spotlighted our featured businesses in our Business & Finance section. It is our advertising sponsors who are supporting our efforts to provide you with a free monthly online magazine for your reading pleasure. We hope that you will support them in turn by participating in our shop local campaign and help us keep our small businesses in Salem County! Click here to see our spotlighted businesses and to read August's articles!

July 2010 - Introducing Our 'Sister Sites'

Due to the popularity of The Women of Salem County, we decided to expand to both Gloucester and Cumberland Counties. In July, we introduced Owner/Editor Esther Lankitus from our newest 'sister magazine', The Women of Cumberland County, as she launched her inaugural issue, and Owner/Editor June Swords Bower, already a pro with her 3rd issue of The Women of Gloucester County.

June 2010 - Celebrating Father's Day Heros

In June, we asked our readers to nominate a special man in their life to be honored for Father's Day. We received several great letters and we posted them all to our Facebook page, and we featured the two that we felt really stood out: "My Hero and the man my kids call Dad" and "My Husband Is My Hero".

May 2010 - Salem County's Most Eligible Bachelor

In May, we held our 1st Annual Charity Singles' Mixer & Bachelor Auction at Auburn Road Vineyards on May 2nd, 2010, where we raised a total of $3,835.00 for Salem County Women's Services and The April Pettit Memorial Foundation! Click here to read the articles and find out who was voted "Salem County's Most Eligible Bachelor 2010"!

We surprised our featured women this month, Debbie Pettit and Jennifer Dubler, by not announcing them until Mother's Day! Check out what their loved ones wrote about these special ladies!

April 2010 - It's Raining Men! Hallelujah!

Last month, we asked our readers to nominate bachelor candidates for our search for Salem County's Most Eligible Bachelors - and WOW! What a great bunch of candidates!!! During the month of April, our readers voted for their favorite bachelors to be "auctioned off" for charity. Over 1,700 votes were cast and an amazing 23,000+ page views to the site were recorded! Click here to read the articles and see the bachelors in our April issue!

March 2010 - Women's History Month

Battle of GettysburgMarch is Women's History Month, now celebrated annually in the United States. This year's theme is "Writing Women Back into History" and commemorates the National Women's History Project's 30th Anniversary. Click here to learn about two brave women in Salem County's history.

We had a lot of fun this month on Facebook with our search for Salem County's Most Eligible Bachelor! At the end of the month, we had 23 bachelor candidates for our auction on May 2nd.

Our featured women this month were Cherie Lombardo and Tara LaRosa. Cherie is the Principal of Pitman Highschool, a marathon runner, and a very inspirational woman. February 2010 - Go Red for Women!

Last year at the Salem County Chamber of Commerce Women's Leadership Symposium, Hon. Gilda Gill, Salem County Clerk, gave an interesting account of several women that are a part of Salem County's history. February 2010 - Go Red for Women!

Go Red for WomenTo raise awareness in support of the fight against heart disease, we encouraged women to wear red on Feb 12th. A group of local women braved the snow and gathered at Lady Fitness to have a group photo taken by Dee Marie Photography.

WHY ADVERTISE ON OUR SITE?

After just a little over 8 months online, www.SalemCountyWoman.com has had over 63,000 page views and is already proving to be a very popular destination among Salem County women - and men! Our Facebook fan page reaches over 1,000 fans on a regular basis; in fact, our magazine is "the talk of the town" - and we plan to keep it that way! We are promoting it through a variety of traditional, online and "grassroots" marketing efforts. We have a 12'x24' billboard on Rt. 40 which reaches tens of thousands of commuters; our website is search engine optimized and is being found for hundreds of keyword searches; we have banners and links from many highly trafficked websites around the county; we are promoting the site daily on our social media sites, Facebook and Twitter; we send a monthly e-newsletter to our subscribers; our writers are promoting the site in their own newsletters and email blasts; we have a monthly sweepstakes and "tell-a-friend" viral marketing incentive; we are currently working on print materials including rackcards, flyers and brochures; and we are always coming up with new ideas to promote the site!

We are developing partnerships with several organizations around the county, including The Salem County Commission on Women, which we hope will prove to be mutually beneficial. We support The Salem County Women's Shelter by raising awareness, through cash donations and by organizing and hosting fundraisers on their behalf.
