Sue Ann Leighty Executive Director Habitat for Humanity
SALEM COUNTY, NJ (December 2010) - Sue Ann Leighty was recently selected as the new executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Salem County, a non-profit group that aims at providing decent and affordable housing to county residents. This has been a goal of Sue Ann’s for a long time and she feels that she has achieved a major milestone in her career.
Sue Ann and her husband Bruce moved to Salem County 29 years ago and have called it home ever since. They have two sons and a granddaughter, Brynn, who is without a doubt the apple of Sue Ann’s eye.
Sue Ann previously worked for City Group as the senior vice president for 20 years. She currently owns her own real estate business, ERA Preferred Realtors, which she started with business partner Beverly Lewis. The business has been voted Best of Salem County in three of the past five years. Always very ambitious, Sue Ann believes that she will have no problems fulfilling her responsibilites in both roles.
Her community involvement includes her position on the board at the YMCA, being a member of the Penns Grove Rotary Club and volunteering for Meals on Wheels of Salem County. She’s also been active with a Habitat affiliate in Delaware.
“I’m very sentimental about the community,” said Leighty. “I believe that being involved in all aspects of the community, (Habitat) can really make a difference.” [read more]
